Eat these foods and starve away cancer

Below are 5 foods that i recommend you to eat in order to stave off cancer. These foods limit cancer cell growth in their own special way so Indulge and stay healthy.\

1. Brussel sprouts & cabbage. This type of cabbage foods contains brassinin; a powerful cancer-fighter, also found in bok choy, cauliflower and broccoli. Eat one cup of these brassinin containing foods at least 3 times a week.

2.Tomatoes.  They contain the cancer fighting molecule called lycopene, also found in watermelon. If you cook the tomatoes in a little olive oil you will release more of these beneficial cancer-fighting molecules of lycopene.  Have about 2 cups of cooked tomatoes a week.

3. sardines; This fish is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and low in mercury. Three 6-ounce servings a week is ideal.

4. raspberries. The antioxidants in this and most berries are very potent to help ward off cancers. You should eat 1 cup a day and you can do the frozen variety in the winter if you cannot find fresh.

5. Artichokes. The plant/phytochemicals in young artichokes interfere with the proliferation and inflammation occurring in cancer cells. Chemical compounds in artichokes also help to lower your bad cholesterol. This lowers your chances of getting coronary artery disease.  Enjoy ¼ cup of hearts per day.

Cancer fighting recipe….Tomato-braised artichokes;


Boil 4 artichokes for 30 minutes; drain. In the same pot, brown 2 chopped celery stalks, 1 chopped onion, and 1 teaspoon dried oregano in 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add 1 cup red wine, a 28-ounce can of chopped tomatoes, and 4 cloves minced garlic. Place artichokes in tomato mixture; spoon mixture over then. Cover and simmer for about 35 minutes or until artichokes are tender.
